The water stays still, but the wind, the light, the absence of light, and everything around it constantly changes and moves the water.
Light as Reflection captures this ceaseless shifting of water and puts a brief pause to the movement through the solidity of the materials and woven structure.

Light as Reflection explores working with three warps in the structure.
Maximizing the capacity of a Jacquard Loom, using three sets of warps allows multiple layers to be woven simultaneously, which opens up endless potential to texture and dimensionality.
It allows floating (non-woven) wefts to appear and disappear throughout the surface, while a full pattern way is being woven in the back layer.
This jacquard fabric is woven vertically, where the pattern is designed to be railroaded to have a horizontal continuum of gradient shifts in pattern.

The three dimensionality of the fabric is caused by engineering the material and structure through the introduction of gradating pattern.
Weft floats are designed into the very top layer of pattern. The placement of the pattern motifs results in the dispersement of weft floats,
resulting in the film layer (monofilament layer) to buckle and crinkle where the weft floats are pulling in and out against the monofilament layer.

The choice of material - metallic yarn, reflective yarn, monofilament, rayon and polyester yarn - creates an unusual visual experience.
Reflective yarn is used as weft floats, whereas metallic yarn, rayon and polyester are used to weave the very back layer, which is subdued by the the appearance of another layer on top.
