This industrially-knit installation is a manifesto of the way we interact with light.
When one encounters this work, the viewer’s vision is completely saturated by it.
Dimension of light and space shifts as the viewer walks through the installation.

This dimension is achieved through utilizing tubular knit structure, in which two layers of fabrics are simultaneously knitted on the Stoll Industrial Machine.
Layer A shifts in color from warm to cool, where as Layer B shifts from cool to warm.
This juxtaposing color sequence illuminates mysterious yet familiar experience of light to the viewers who walk around it.
From hues and striping of yarn sequence to the width of the ribbed columns of each panel, everything about this mass of fabric is constantly shifting and changing.

Light as Light is inspired by the touch of light upon old buildings in Korea, one of the few preserved national treasures of Korea, Jongmyo Shrine, quite yet poignant paintings of Park Seo Bo, and the impalpable nature of Roni Horn’s sculpture.
